About the event
This event is not sponsored or affiliated with SBUCC, but we encourage like-minded community members to check it out!
From the event description:
"Join us for a special treat as renown Santa Barbara local birder Nick Lethaby will lead this trip. He is sure to help us find some special birds as migration is beginning in the county as well as relate many interesting facts on avian biology and behavior! We are certain to see this years new batch of Snowy Plover chicks. This will be an opportunity to see late summer Santa Barbara specialties. This is a good time of year to see migrating shorebirds and terns. After we have scoured the plover reserve, we will then set up spotting scopes above Coal Oil Point in the hopes of seeing early migrating birds (loons, sea ducks and geese, and whatever else may be flying by). As with the least terns, no guarantee we will spot anything but this is a chance to practice a sea watch at one of the best local spots to do so."
