About the event

[This event is not sponsored by SBUCC, but it may be of interest to members of our Collective!]

We are thrilled to invite you to join Resilient Cities Catalyst, Goleta Slough Management Committee, and Heal the Ocean for the first public workshop to develop a shared vision and advance coastal resilience for communities and systems in across the Goleta Slough in the face of increased impacts of climate change and other challenges. Your perspectives will directly inform future multibenefit projects impacting the Slough. Workshop participants will have an opportunity to learn about the initiative and provide input on their experiences with the slough, including:

  • Elevating your priorities for the region

  • Envisioning a resilient future for the slough and its surrounding assets like Goleta Beach and the Santa Barbara Airport

  • Identifying how climate change and environmental considerations related to the Slough may impact local communities
