About the event

Lend a hand in the stewardship of the Mission Lagoon restoration area! Last month, we cleaned up trash around the lagoon area and discovered that invasive sweetclover (Melilotus spp.) was outcompeting some of the native plants. At this month's event, we will be carefully removing the sweetclover to make room for the native species.

Please contact us at info@sburbancreeks.org to RSVP or ask any questions you have. Please bring your own garden gloves. All participants must sign a waiver, or have a parent sign a waiver if under 18. Make sure to bring water, sunscreen, and suitable attire, including closed toed shoes.  If you need your volunteer hours certified on a form for school or work, bring that as well.

Mission Creek Lagoon is SBUCC's Adopt-a-Beach site, as part of a Coastal Commission program (administered in SB by the City Creeks Division) to steward California's beaches.  Learn more about Adopt-a-Beach…
